Nearpod
Nearpod
Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): I could see the student experience of Nearpod going as high as “Evaluate,” depending on what poll questions or open entry responses were used. Certainly students could work through a Nearpod lesson and and reach “Understand.”
Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): There are elements of Nearpod which could fit into “Motion pictures” or “Exhibits” in the Cone, but also the student experience could go as high as “Demonstrations” or maybe “Dramatized Experiences” given the interactivity required.
Integration of tool for teaching and learning:
Nearpod is designed to add interactive components to any lesson. Teachers and students can view the lesson from iPads or other mobile devices. Teachers will add slides with content for students to learn, and then may use built-in Nearpod features to add polls and questions in the midst of the informational slides. Nearpod also has 450+ VR lessons that instructors can use to incorporate VR tours of colleges and worldwide locations along with the content they are providing. In addition to travel VR content, there are also lessons that incorporate VR for topics like meditation and other life skills. Nearpod is both a resource for created VR segments, and a tool to combine lesson materials (text, video, questions, etc.) into an interactive experience for students.
