Story Spheres

Story Spheres https://storyspheres.com/ Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): For students who are experiencing instructor-shared content, I believe that the highest level would likely be “Understand.”  If you had students view various images and then (outside of Story Spheres) has them compare the images/locations/activities shown, then it could rise to “Analyse.” Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): The experience would be somewhere between “Motion Pictures” and “Demonstrations,” depending on what was shared. Integration of tool for teaching and learning: Story Spheres allows you to upload your own 360 degree image of a place so that you can share it with others in the Story Spheres gallery or by embedding on a website or in your LMS.  It is a free service.  Story Sphere has several 360 images in its gallery that you can rotate your view in and experience.  You can add your own spheres, and also add audio to them (either as background audi...

Nearpod

Nearpod https://www.nearpod.com/ Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): I could see the student experience of Nearpod going as high as “Evaluate,” depending on what poll questions or open entry responses were used.  Certainly students could work through a Nearpod lesson and and reach “Understand.” Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): There are elements of Nearpod which could fit into “Motion pictures” or “Exhibits” in the Cone, but also the student experience could go as high as “Demonstrations” or maybe “Dramatized Experiences” given the interactivity required. Integration of tool for teaching and learning: Nearpod is designed to add interactive components to any lesson.  Teachers and students can view the lesson from iPads or other mobile devices.  Teachers will add slides with content for students to learn, and then may use built-in Nearpod features to add polls and questions in the midst of the informational slides.  Nearpod also has 450+...

3DBear

3DBear https://www.3dbear.io/ Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): If a student is interacting with a VR scenario, the level in Bloom’s Taxonomy could be as high as “Evaluate”, but no lower than “Understand.”  If the student is using the app to create, they could experience the “Create” level. Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): Students could watch or move through a VR experience at the “Motion Pictures” level, but could, depending on the interaction required, go as far as “Contrived Experiences” in the cone if they are responding to scenarios and providing input to solve a situation. Integration of tool for teaching and learning: 3DBear provides a tool to create virtual environments for student learning.  Workplaces and other scenarios can be recorded as VR tutorials that include both real-world video and animated items.  The VR experience can be interspersed with text to help students identify processes or items they are shown (like identify...
