Hello and welcome to the Social Interactivity Technologies blog!  My name is John Burke and I have created this blog for EDP 643: Interactive Design for Learning.  I am a student in the MA in Instructional Design and Technology program at Miami University.  Here is a recent picture of me, my wife, and my sons hiking at Mt. Hood in Oregon.

  Flip (formerly Flipgrid) https://info.flip.com/ Type of Learning (Bloom's Taxonomy): Could work with any level of the taxonomy, depending on what they student is asked to record in their video:  could be anything from recounting what they remember about a topic, to demonstrating their understanding in a presentation, to applying content and demonstrating that in a video, analyzing  situation in a video, evaluating a situation, or even creating a video to demonstrate their understanding of a topic/concept. Type of Learning Experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): Seems to fit somewhere in the middle of the Cone (Exhibits, Field Trips, Demonstrations) if students are watching the work of other students showing their work or watching the instructor demonstrate actions or visit places.  But, can involve the student who is recording a video in options further down the Cone (Dramatic Participation, Contrived Experiences, Direct Purposeful Experiences) if student is asked ...

  Lucidchart https://www.lucidchart.com/pages/ Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): "Create, Evaluate, Analyze, Apply" (depending on task assigned to the student) Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): "Demonstrations" through "Direct, Purposeful experiences" (depending on task assigned) Integration of Tool for Teaching and Learning: Lucidchart has many uses.  It is a tool for creating online diagrams, and has a large library of symbols and templates to help with this.  It can also be used as a mind mapping tool for brainstorming, or to create Venn diagrams, flowcharts, and timelines.  Instructors may use it to visually depict class content in terms of processes or relationships among elements and concepts and share them with students either inside of Lucidchart or embedded in other documents and tools (Google Docs, for example).  If kept inside Lucidchart, an online diagram can be contributed to by an entire class or a group of students....
