  • Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): With the student as a listener to podcasts: "Understand, analyze, evaluate"; With the student as a podcaster: "Create, Apply"
  • Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): "radio, recordings, still pictures" if a student is just listening; with the student as podcaster, it  could be anywhere between "direct purposeful experience" through "demonstrations."
  • Integration of tool for teaching and learning:
  • Podomatic makes it easy for instructors and students to produce podcasts.  Instructors can created podcasts of lectures or review materials for students to listen to outside of class or before tests.  Podcasts have a low barrier for entry in that they use open source software and there is much free instructional content on how to do it.  So, students can also get involved in creating podcasts as individuals or in groups  Podomatic offers shared projects so that multiple students can participate in the process.  They may assume different roles from producer to editor to interviewer or host.   Students may rotate through roles in a given project.  Creating conversations gives students a way to develop their voices as writers and also opens up an education in research skills and interviewing skills to bring the podcast together.
