  • Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): Popplet could be used for every point in Bloom's Taxonomy depending on how it was utilized:  students could view a Popplet created by an instructor or a fellow student to use to "remember" content, while student-created Popplets give students the experience of showing and growing their "understanding" of a concept.  The act of "creating" a Popplet exhibits the highest level skill, also allowing  a student to "evaluate" and "analyze" content and concepts, while "applying" lessons and skills they were previously taught.
  • Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): A teacher-created or peer-created graphical organizer in Popplet could be experienced at the point of "exhibits" or "demonstrations" on the Cone.  If students are building their own Popplets as graphical organizers and adding additional content and sub-concepts to them, they may experience "dramatic participation" and "contrived experiences" and even potentiallly "direct, purposeful experiences."
  • Integration of tool for teaching and learning:
  • Popplet is great for creating graphical organizers of all kinds.  It is easy to use (easier than Gliffy), making it accessible to anyone without much digital creation experience.  Students and teachers may create concept maps, flow charts, or brainstorm ideas. You may link not just graphical elements and text together, but also include weblinks, images, and YouTube videos within a Popplet. Teachers could share templates of various forms of graphical organizers to have students add content or inspire them to adapt into an organizer that better fits their needs. This flexible tool may be collaborated on by a group or a whole class, or shared by individuals with teachers or peer reviewers for grading or comments.
