    • Type of Learning (Bloom’s Taxonomy): Building and launching a form puts a student right at the level of “Create”, with the results of the survey able to be worked with at each level moving downward in the taxonomy.
    • Type of Learning experience (Dale’s Cone of Experience): If a student creates a form to be completed by classmates or other participants, that action is a “direct, purposeful experience” of interacting with others through a form and learning their thoughts and responses on the topic of the form.  Experiencing just the responses from the form without building it puts a student more at the “exhibits” or “demonstrations” section of the Cone.
    • Integration of tool for teaching and learning:
    • Google Forms is an essential tool for not just displaying or analyzing a concept, but for actually collecting survey data so that it can be considered in understanding a topic. Teachers and students can create forms on any given topic, include single answer, multiple answer, and open text questions, and share the form with any size group that they wish.  Responses may be viewed while the survey is ongoing, both in individual form and in a chart-based summary of responses.  Responses may include the respondent’s identifying information or be taken anonymously. In addition to the graphical summary of responses, data may also be exported to Google Slides (and from there to a host of other software) for flexibility in grouping and organizing responses.  For a survey approach to data collection, Google Forms provides a free and very flexible option.
